This position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program. This contract is for 8 weeks, 35 hours per week, $15.00 per hour. Anticipated contract start date: July 6, 2020.
- As part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must youth, aged 15 to 30 years to be eligible for this position.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Mermaid's headquarters in Windsor, NS.
- Experience in marketing and social media management;
- Digital Media knowledge (premiere, final cut, logic, videography, editing) a plus (not required);
- Competent communication skills (writing & public speaking);
- Proficient in Adobe software (illustrator, photoshop) and MS Office suite;
- Team player, highly detailed oriented;
- Flexible & Adaptable;
- Capable of interviewing remotely;
About the Position
The Administrative Assistant is a position that is both rewarding and challenging. Responsibilities are Welcome members of the public, particularly visitors to the region and to the Province; Give guided tours of the organization’s unique puppet collection, sharing Mermaid’s 48-year history with the public as required; Assist with promotional activities related to performances at the Mermaid Imperial Performing Arts Centre (MIPAC); Assist office personnel with website updates and social media account management; Assist in organizing archival and current company information; Assist with production-related activities, such as set up or repair of props and set pieces; Assist with virtual recreational workshops in puppetry for families and children; Participate in aspects of administration related to tour management, planning, office administration, site visits, facility tours; Use computers to create tour administration materials (spreadsheets, documents, posters, etc.); Other general office duties as required.
