The Company owns and operates a 158-acre state-of-the-art greenhouse and outdoor facility located in Strathroy, ON. The Company also operates CX Industries, a wholly-owned subsidiary of WeedMD Inc. CX operates out of the Company’s fully-licensed 26,000 sq. ft. Aylmer, Ontario production facility which specializes in cannabis extraction and processing. WeedMD has a multi-channeled distribution strategy that includes selling directly to medical patients, strategic relationships across the seniors’ market and supply agreements with Shoppers Drug Mart as well as six provincial distribution agencies where WeedMD’s adult-use brand Color Cannabis is sold.

Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Regulatory Compliance, the Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Manager provides the support to successfully deliver on regulatory compliance strategies and initiatives to meet company's business objectives in Canada to ensure that regulatory, licensing and compliance expectations are met in accordance with regulations and guidelines. Will be responsible for preparation of various documents required for licensing, regulatory compliance and submissions, as well as facilitating the GPP/GMP (GxP) compliance of company's licenced facilities, product developments, R&D, import and export of cannabis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides relevant comments on advertising/promotional materials as well as final approval/disapproval
  • Supports compliance with internal SOPs and Health Canada/International Regulatory Authorities requirements, including preparation and submission of any required documents to regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations and policies enforced by Health Canada and Internationally as they relate to cannabis and provides regulatory advice accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Operations, Marketing and Business Development departments to ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and guidelines;
  • Supports the implementation, review and enforcement of regulatory compliance with requirements of GxP;
  • Prepare various documents, procedures, SOPs, protocols required for licensing, regulatory compliance and submissions, GxP compliance, and oversee their implementation, as necessary;
  • Participating in and managing activities associated with regulatory inspections, audits, self-inspections, APQR, ASR, import and export of cannabis;
  • Assist and participate in the preparation and configuration of company's Quality Management System to meet the company's regulatory compliance objectives;
  • Other duties as assigned by VP of Global Regulatory Compliance

Requirements

  • B.Sc. (Pharmaceutical, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology) or equivalent in related sciences;
  • 4 years demonstrated success working in a Pharmaceutical / NHP / Cannabis industry in Regulatory Affairs / Compliance / Quality or equivalent environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of regulations and regulatory guidelines pertaining to the business (as CA/CR, F&DA/F&DR, NHPR, CDSA/NCR, GPP, GMP, GDP, GACP, SFCR, HACCP etc.);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent project management, organization and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success as a liaison between companies and government agencies or third parties on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Ability to maintain security clearance with Health Canada.
  • Ability to travel, within Canada and internationally.
