The Senior Planner is responsible for developing business strategies and seasonal assortment plans to maximize sales, profit, turn and inventory health. This role will manage, coach, and train Merchandise Planners
Core Job Responsibilities:
Develop business area strategy in partnership with Merchants, Vendors, and other cross functional team members
Financial planning to include managing sales, margin, and inventory KPIs relating to Annual & Monthly planning
Open to Buy Management
Advertising/Event & New Item Forecasting
Training & Development of direct reports/internal partners
Inventory Productivity to include end of life activity
Participation in projects to support of company growth/process improvement
Ad hoc Reporting
Minimum of 5 years retail related experience including 3 years of planning
Management experience preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with a cross functional team
Active participant in a cross functional or departmental project, demonstrating engagement & leadership skills
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong listening skills
Critical thinker, able to interact professionally with both internal and external stakeholders and influence with data
Ability to make sound, informed decisions particularly under time pressure and in ad hoc situations.
Demonstrate strong influential & negotiation skills
Overtime and weekends as needed.
