THE OPPORTUNITY

Prominence Way, located in Calgary, Alberta, is actively seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our growing team!

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the successful incumbent in the position of Full-time & Part-time Cook will be responsible for preparing meals for our residents, using standardized recipes and prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion-controlled quantities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Monitor the quality and quantity of food supplies
  • Follow established procedures for sanitation, safety and quality assurance
  • Daily cleaning and dish washing duties
  • Continuously follow our "good customer service" principle and ensure that these values are demonstrated in day to day practices

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Push, pull wheeled equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, kneel, and work with arms raised on a regular basis
  • Walk and stand on a variety of surfaces for at least 4 hours per day

WHO YOU ARE

  • Hold a certificate of completion in a two-year community college culinary course or equivalent
  • Have previous experience preparing food in large quantities
  • Computer Savvy
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills
  • Knowledgable in Health and Safety and Public Health regulations
  • Able to interact effectively with team members, suppliers, residents and families
  • Adhere to legislated and Company standards, policies, procedures and practices
  • Must be able to provide a police check with vulnerable sector screen upon hire
