Role Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Generalist, the primary role of the facilities and maintenance coordinator is to preform regular custodial tasks. This role includes but is not limited to cleaning, providing regular maintenance to manufacturing machinery e.g. CNC routers also monitoring and maintaining heating, cooling, lighting and plumbing systems. In this role the facilities and maintenance coordinator will also ensure not only interior but also the exterior of the building is kept in good condition during any season. Tasks involving salting walkways, shoveling, mowing lawns, cleaning windows etc. Coordinator will also compliment as a secondary company driver if and when required. Coordinator will ensure company vehicles are regularly maintained and flag manager when additional maintenance is required.

Job Description Role and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with production manager to assist with Preventative maintenance & regular maintenance of all equipment and machinery (Lubing, de- greasing, cleaning, checking oil, filter replacement, cleaning)
  • Maintaining HVAC, plumbing and electrical, lighting systems.
  • Implement and maintain weekly, monthly and yearly schedules for cleaning and maintenance. These schedules are to be approved by manager.
  • Ensuring garbage and recycle waste is taken out on a regular basis.
  • Assisting and setting up company boardroom on special occasions and events E.g. Customer visitations.

Ensuring office spaces, kitchen and warehouse floors are regularly cleaned throughout the week. These tasks include window cleaning, floor sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s license
  • Criminal background check
  • Forklift and scissor lift license would be an asset
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in custodial environment
  • High level and understanding of repair and maintenance in a building.
  • Knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment. E.g. lawn mower, snow blower, alarm system, thermostats, HVACs etc.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds without difficulty.
  • Fluent in English, must be able to write and speak without difficulty.
  • The ability to remain calm and ask for help in a difficult situation.
  • A willingness to improve workmanship and skills.
  • Coordinator will be part of a big family, working with others in a cooperative manner is key.

Preferred Skills

Good communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, flexible to work rotating shifts to accommodate production schedule, must disclose any physical restrictions with regards to bend, twist, heavy lifting (< 50lbs), and long hour standing for 7 – 8 hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 /hour
