The Global Talent Development team aims to build leading edge, innovative and holistic learning solutions to enhance employee experiences, strengthen our talent pipeline and enable Sun Life to be one of the top insurance and asset management companies in the world.
As Senior Consultant, Global Talent Development, you will report to Director, Talent Development. You will be collaborating with all levels of the organization; from leaders to front-line employees across all business groups and functions within the organization, as well as with external consultants and vendors, to research, design, execute and communicate talent development solutions aligned with business outcomes. You will explore various learning technologies, learning modalities and learning tools to design and deliver solutions that enhance collaboration and drive Sun Life strategic priorities forward with more speed and agility.
What will you do?
Assess and identify critical organizational capability strengths and gaps based on the business priorities and direction
Knowledgeable of emerging trends within the learning field and digital workplace transformation, and apply practices to enable continuous learning within SLF environment
Act as an integrator to bring together necessary stakeholders from across the organization to solve for a talent development issue
Facilitate virtual and in person learning programs, primarily in the Toronto area
Research and/or adopt learning and/or workplace technology such as online development tools, emerging collaboration tools, the learning management system, etc. to create engaging online training, learning programs and reference materials
Design, manage, and/or implement effective and efficient learning solutions at the global and/or local level by utilizing best practices, adult learning principles, available workplace technology, and blended learning strategies
Collaborate with Talent Development colleagues, HR Business Partners, other Centers of Expertise within Human Resources, L&D colleagues, and external vendors/service providers to develop solutions that create a consistent employee and leader experience globally and address critical skill gaps
Measure outcomes to ensure program and service effectiveness
Use project management discipline to ensure an integrated approach to the design and implementation of enterprise-wide employee development
Act as an ongoing resource for escalated questions on employee and leadership development

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
