Canada Malting (CMC) is the largest malt company in Canada, producing approximately 400,000 metric tonnes of malt per year for brewers and distillers around the world - from the largest of multinational organizations to the smallest of craft brewers as well as for food processors. Operating a forklift
Trouble shooting errors
Ensuring machinery runs efficiently
Monitor and audit the quality of the products being packaged
Operating automated bagging line equipment
Prepare orders and wrap for shipping
Adheres to all safety rules and regulations at all times
Other relative tasks within the Operations
Safety training provided upon hiring
Personal Protective Equipment required in all work environments
Shift work may be required
Some positions require outdoor work
Indoor work environments can vary between wet, dusty, cold, hot and high noise conditions
Work around automated equipment
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of bagging line experience required
3-5 years of forklift experience required
Previous experience in grain handling, food processing or manufacturing considered an asset.
High degree of mechanical aptitude
Previous safety training an asset
Excellent communication and written skills
Ability to work alone or in a group
Attention to detail
Positive attitude and self-starter
Warehouse Management or Inventory Control software system experience preferred
Ability to comfortably lift and carry 55lbs multiple times per day, at distances of up to 100ft
Ability to work occasional overtime
Passion for the craft brewing & malting industry is a plus
EDUCATION: High school diploma. Preference will be given to those applicants with post-secondary education (power engineering or related courses).
