‘Sudbury Equipment Repair’ was originally founded by Gerald Perfetto Sr. in 1973 after years of working in the mining industry as a master mechanic.
In 1975, Gerald Sr. invisioned a need for a local supplier specialzing in the repair and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic components. As his vision brought the business to become the leader in the local market, he rebranded ‘Sudbury Equipment Repair’ to ‘S.E.R. Hydraulics Limted’ in 1978.
Since 1978, S.E.R. Hydraulics Limited has become the local leader in custom fluid power engineered solutions, distribution, service and equipment.

We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Hydraulic Technician.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Inspection, rebuild and testing of hydraulic pumps, swing motors, control valves, final drives, travel motors, and other major components for heavy equipment. Major brands include Kawasaki, Rexroth, Hitachi, KYB, etc.
Failure analysis, condition reporting.
Complete work and test reports according to procedures.
Honing and lapping of critical parts
Make recommendations for scope of work and product and system improvements.
Perform repair services to the highest trade standards
Ensure adherence to quoted and specified scope of work, component supply and customer requirements
Qualifications and Skill
Preference will be given to candidates who possess some or all the following qualifications:
2 to 5 years experience in shop setting in hydraulic industry or industrial type setting
General fluid power product/system knowledge
Millwright or heavy-duty mechanic training an asset
Customer service oriented
Proven system troubleshooting
Proven ability in overhaul/reconditioning/performance testing of hydraulic components including fixed and variable displacement pumps and motors; open and closed loop systems; manual, solenoid-operated, proportional and servo valving; hydraulic cylinders; filtration; hose and pipe assemblies
Organize and work independently and as part of a team
Highly skilled technical and mechanical ability with proficiency in use of all hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and performance testing equipment associated with hydraulic service, manufacture and installation
The ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients, suppliers and internal personnel.
Versatility and willingness to learn new methods and product to suit changing technology and customer demands as required.
Have own supply of common hand tools for completing job function
Ability to work safely, lead by example and contribute to overall company safety
