The Coordinator, Communications, Marketing, and Student Recruitment coordinates communications, marketing initiatives as well as student recruitment activities for the Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs (OFFA). Under the direct supervision of the OFFA Director, the Coordinator participates in the planning and implementation of communications strategies; develops promotional materials; plans and participates in recruitment activities on and off campus for undergraduate and graduate programs offered in French and supported by OFFA in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) and the Faculty of Education (FoE) at Simon Fraser University.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree and three years of related experience in communications, program marketing, and student recruitment, as well as in advising, event management, and public speaking, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Fluent in French (both oral and written)
Good knowledge of university policies and procedures as related to undergraduate admissions, registration, and student services.
Good knowledge of educational systems at both the secondary and post-secondary levels.
Good knowledge of the French programs supported by OFFA.
Some knowledge of the University's campuses and student services available.
Proficiency in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the use of multimedia programs (i.e., i-movie).
Ability to use social media outreach and website content management systems.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, both in French and English.
Excellent public presentation skills.
Ability to evaluate applicants' admissibility and to refer them accordingly.
Ability to exercise tact when communicating with applicants, counselors, parents, and school officials.
Ability to make logical, appropriate decisions and to demonstrate sound judgment.
Ability to communicate admissions decisions in a diplomatic but unambiguous manner.
Ability to handle sensitive public relations issues involving administrative or academic departments outside Student Services.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student data and records.
Ability to operate within the tight deadlines of a post-secondary environment.
Ability to work weekends and evenings.
Ability to travel, using various modes of transportation, in and outside of the province.

Days/hours of work are: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
