The Event Crew Team Lead is responsible for providing leadership and onsite direction to a diverse and hardworking team, while assisting in set-up and tear-down of a wide array of exciting events that happen on Stampede Park year round. This role is also responsible for facility cleanliness and overall appearance, while providing exceptional customer service to all clients, guests and other departments.
This position is also responsible for providing semi-skilled heavy manual labor involving the use of hand and/or common laboring tools and operating mid-size and specialized motorized operating equipment
This is a Regular Part Time position working various days and schedules
This role requires semi-skilled heavy manual labour work, which includes, but is not limited to:
Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
Motivate a hardworking team to complete daily tasks for the many exciting events on Stampede Park.
Liaise with internal departments, event managers and coordinators to ensure the successful execution of event setup and tear down in a timely and efficient manner.
Adhere to safety and environmental protection programs, policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Operate motorized vehicles and equipment including forklifts, scissors lift, pallet jacks, walk-behind floor scrubbers, ride-on floor scrubbers and snow sweepers.
Completing daily logs as directed, which may include vehicle inspections, vehicle sign outs, fuel logs and vehicle maintenance action sheets.
Performing heavy manual labor assignments ranging from; assisting with the setup from high profile events, moving furniture, setting up construction fences, hauling boxes, pulling garbage, sidewalk and loading dock snow removal.
Perform light housekeeping as required.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:
Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 (non GDL) driver’s license, with a minimum of one (1) year driving experience required. to operate Calgary Stampede vehicles and equipment.
Minimum of two (2) years forklift operating experience and/or relative equipment experience.
Aptitude to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
Previous experience working in the event and hospitality industry is considered an asset.
Exception customer service, communication and time management skills.
Knowledge and experience cleaning and maintenance of commercial buildings and office spaces are considered assets.
Previous leadership experience is considered an asset.
Frequent lifting upwards of 50 lbs with occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
Pushing, pulling, crouching, bending and reaching frequently
Exposure to dust, fumes, gas, orders, animal dander, bedding waste and variability of seasonal climate.
Physical and visual acuity is required.
