Safety :
Participate in daily toolbox talks
Work in a safe manner and follow all safety-related procedures
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
Receiving/PutAway :
Unload inbound packaging materials & pallets.
Participate in pile-covering
Quality :
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Report quality variances.
Follow established load preparation & sanitation procedures
Ensure outbound cargo is loaded to maximize shipped volume
Loading :
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into containers or trailers
Equipment :
Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
Inventory :
Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
Assist in physical inventories.
Ensure proper stock rotation.
Security :
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Comply with WHIMIS and Worksafe NB standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Preferred education level is a High School Diploma or GED.
Should have at least one year experience operating an articulated forklift.
Must be able to do basic math functions such as adding, subtracting and dividing.
Must be able to read orders for picking and staging of products.
Must be able to complete the pre-shift inspection forms.
Must be able to independently lift up to 50 pounds and have no physical or medical restrictions preventing safe and efficient operation of equipment, or from wearing necessary PPE
Must be able to pass the Scotts forklift exams and obtain and maintain a valid operator's license.
Must be able to work at an acceptable pace
Must be able to work in hot, dusty, cold, snowy, icy & wet conditions
Must be able to work independently and as an integral part of a team
Should have a class 1 driver's license
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to work frequent overtime
Current employees wishing to transfer must have displayed a clean safety record and acceptable absenteeism.
