Our busy Edmonton location is seeking a full time Dispatch Assistant to work alongside the Dispatch Manager!
How You’ll Help:
- Assist in scheduling crews for moves
- Monitor active moves to ensure they are on schedule and advise customer of any changes.
- Oversee daily activities of Drivers and Helpers and addresses issues (e.g. move refusals, late arrivals, poor customer service); escalate issues to Dispatch Manager as required.
- Communicate with drivers and helpers on day of move
- Answering calls, emails and other forms of communication from customers, staff, and other departments.
- Complete various reports and documents as required
- Be an active part of the team and foster a positive environment of continuous improvement
- Align with all safety standards and ensure all drivers and swamper follow all safety protocols
- Assist Dispatch Manager with hiring and onboarding; interviewing and providing new hires with paperwork and ensuring proper training is completed prior to 1st shifts
- Other related duties as may be assigned.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of grade 12 diploma; an acceptable combination of education and training will be considered
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a time sensitive, planning and organizing role, preferable in the transportation industry
- Highly organized with exceptional ability to multitask and stay on top of current status
- Sense of urgency and responsive to changes in a timely and efficient manner
- Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with Hubspot is an asset

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
