Reporting to Sr. Manager, Projects, Data Insights and Analytics, the incumbent will have the opportunity to lead various unique AI/BI/ML projects and enterprise-wide analytical initiatives.

Role Summary:
  • Plan, directs and coordinates/oversees activities of assigned projects and are accomplished within approved timeframe, scope, budget, at a quality level. Additionally, the solutions delivered must be sustainable and supportable.
  • Provides resource demand planning and time management with regards to development or modification to an Business Intelligence Solution; BI project managers main focus is to ensure projects achieve the approved business case and serve as key liaisons / contact point for the projects which they oversee under the leadership of a Program or Portfolio Director.
Representative Duties & Accountabilities

Leads the delivery of a group of highly technical projects in line with organizational policies, principles and objectives.
Negotiates with business partners regarding projects plans for applications / technology products including planning, scheduling, resourcing, risk assessment, cost/benefit analysis and milestone establishment.
Provides formalized work direction and leadership to assigned individuals/teams (i.e. vendors, architecture, engineering, QA, business and system analysts, technical specialists, other project leaders).
Tracks, monitors and communicates project progress against project plan to relevant stakeholders; acts as the primary liaison/facilitator between project team and business area to ensure business objectives are being met

Knowledge, Skills & Expertise

Business acumen and technical savvy
A minimum 5+ years of Project Management
Current knowledge and experience with regards to BI/AI/IT, ETL tools, Solutions and Cloud Platform would be an asset
Conflict management – specialized interpersonal skills to resolve situations with colleagues where they may be some level of conflict, stress or uncertainty
Ability to manage ambiguity, uncertainty and changing priorities
Use of formalized methodology and project tracking tools, forecasting, planning, financial controls, budgeting, risk management, issue management and organizational change management techniques
Experience working in a matrix environment with virtual teams
Track record of building strong partnerships with internal and external partners, team members and vendors
Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Business or equivalent
Familiarity with market vendors and governing company policies/procedures.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
Experience communicating with non-IT professionals and assessing needs / facilitating alternative solution definition
Strong knowledge of project management methodology and best practices (e.g. PMI, Agile/Scrum/Kanban), proficiency using Project Management Tools including MS Office products (Excel, Work, PowerPoint), JIRA, Confluence and MS Project and strong understanding of the Project Life Cycle. Formal project management training is desirable; PMI/PMP, Agile certification is not required but is considered an asset
End to end project facilitation expertise, from issue presentation to business case articulation and business solution(s) recommendation
Demonstrated analytical capability to assess information gathered from a variety of sources
