G-Tel Engineering is hiring and training new Meter Readers to inspect residential home gas meters across Ontario. This position is a great fit for people who like walking outdoors and working independently. It’s also a terrific stepping stone into a rapidly growing and lucrative industry that are full of opportunities for advancement and increasing compensation.

As our new Meter Reader, you’ll collect and report on electrical meter data available on residential homes.Your tasks will include:

Driving to residential homes following a daily scheduled route
Reading gas meters on houses and logging the information
Reporting if a meter cannot be read, ensuring all data is properly tracked
Communicating with supervisory team regarding any potential hazards

Valid G class Ontario driver’s license, your own vehicle, and a clean drivers abstract
Ability to pass a criminal background record check
Fluent ability to read, write, and speak English
At least one year of work experience in any general labour, warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or similar position would be an asset
Comfortable working outdoors and physically able to be on your feet walking for the duration of your shift
