Developmental Support Workers are responsible for supporting persons with disabilities, which require them to assist with planning, teaching life skills, helping participate with recreation and leisure activities, monitoring and maintaining support.
Completion of high school or college diploma.
Medication administration certificate.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate or Basic cardiac life support (BCSL).
Checked for criminal record.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility in taking shifts.
Ability to work with individuals and families.
Consistent and good attendance record.
Gather information and prepare reports, provide personal support services to persons with special needs.
Ability to work under pressure.
Reading text, Documentation, writing or oral communications, decision making and working under The Director of Care.
