Aramark Canada Healthcare is seeking qualified candidates for an Environmental & Food Services Supervisor for an acute care hospital located in Sioux Lookout, ON.
Responsibilities include daily planning and directing all unit activities related to environmental services, food services and laundry. Complying with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client. Additionally this role will provide supervision in areas of food production and patient food services, complying with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service and environmental care experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees.
Ensures compliance with appropriate infection prevention, safety, policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
Inspect and monitors cleanliness of facility, sanitation and infection control; take corrective action where necessary to ensure there is efficient and cost-effective utilization of staff, materials, and equipment in all departments and monitors client and Aramark annual budgets.
Provide supportive leadership; a feeling of complete trust, security, and satisfaction through demonstrations of competence, willingness to serve and leading by example.
Supervises, staffs, trains and manages the performance of front line staff in all three areas.
As part of the Aramark on-site team will participate with on-call coverage outside regular business hours and replace shifts as necessary.
Drives patient satisfaction and maintains client relationships at the highest professional levels with all correspondence.
Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards including keeping updated on PIDAC (Provinicial Infection Diseases Advisory Committee) and Long Term Care regulations and changes.
Conducts applicable rounding, completes stop light reports and manages the performance of the all three department’s front line staff regarding food presentation and quality of service.
Assist with the hiring, evaluation and disciplining of front line employees; prepare work schedules and maintain adequate staffing.
All departmental, administrative and public assigned spaces are to be kept in accordance with the Aramark and the facility standards of cleanliness and appearance.
Completes departmental audits as assigned on a daily, weekly and monthly bases.
Assists with providing coverage for the Aramark team and this could include office related responsibilities.
Manages and controls resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supplies and cost control within budgetary guidelines for all assigned areas.
Assist in maintenance of all controls for assigned programs for Aramark and the client: They could include the following: Schedules, Sign-In Sheets, Shift Coverage Reports, Daily Huddles, Safety and Operational Logs, Documentation of Usage/Food Waste Logs, Laundry Weight Reports, Inventory Count Sheets, Financial and Banking Reports, Weekly and Monthly Operational Reports, Inspections and Follow-up Documentation Action Plan Reports, Food Safety Audit, Checks Food Temperature and Assigned Cleaning Logs again all in accordance with Aramark, local Public Health regulations and the facility's directives.
Responsible for application of all Facility Fit Pro modules and updates.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Member of CSNM preferred.
Retail/ Food experience an asset.
Minimum (3-5) three to five years’ experience in environmental services, food services and laundry within a hospital or Long Term Care (LTC) environment preferred.
Must be skilled in directing and motivating the staff; have knowledge of infection control techniques and food safety.
Provide effective oral, written and communication skills, having the ability to work well with others at all levels.
Full knowledge of pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations for a healthcare environment
Must have detailed organization and prioritizing skills with the ability to train; teach, show and follow-up on all assignments, when necessary.
Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Can interpret and follow technical instructions and complete assignments timely; showing a sense of urgency.
Strong computer skills an asset.
