We are looking for: Director, Tax

About the team

Kinaxis is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Director, Tax. Reporting to the VP, Finance, the Director, Tax will lead all tax operations for our local and global entities. An expert in relevant tax legislation, the Director, Tax will be responsible for global tax planning, compliance and governance, and will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions. Managing others in the department, the Director, Tax will be a strong people leader with exceptional communication and leadership skills.

What You’ll Do

Optimize tax planning, processes and corporate structure to align with Kinaxis’ expanding global business operations
Understand and provide guidance on tax regimes in new jurisdictions to support international expansion
Oversee and monitor the global transfer pricing program and SR&ED claim process
Ensure multi-jurisdictional tax compliance for all Kinaxis entities, including corporate tax, sales tax, and employee tax
Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns in all countries in which Kinaxis operates
Communicate tax objectives and strategies to senior leaders
Lead all corporate tax projects
Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants and tax authorities
Oversee and review tax provision and related disclosures
Stay current with accounting guidance and tax laws and regulations
Review commercial contracts to ensure multi-jurisdictional tax compliance
Play a key role in planning for potential acquisitions

What we are looking for

In addition to a post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline, you possess:
10+ years of progressive Tax-related experience in a global organization
CPA or CA designation is preferred
Proven management and leadership skills
Strong Canadian and international tax knowledge including transfer pricing experience
Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure, ever changing environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
