Overview

This Field Service Technicians, Power Systems works at our customer sites to safely and effectively diagnose and repair fuel storage, supply/return and venting systems in a timely manner while maintaining extremely high standards and ensuring positive customer experiences. Note: Location will be determined by the selected candidate that qualifies for the position.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate safe and healthy work behaviors and practices at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiatives
Perform all reasonable steps and precautions to guarantee Toromont’s Health and Safety Guidelines are followed by sub-contractors
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on generator, industrial engines, marine engines, controls and other auxiliary equipment to maintain customer satisfaction
Conduct pre-job hazard assessments and mechanical repairs on engines and generators in both the shop and on customer sites
Perform basic troubleshooting for all equipment and provide recommendations on repairs and upgrades
Use electrical and mechanical testing and calibrating equipment to diagnose and service equipment
Provide basic interpretation of detailed Engineer’s plans, schematics and wiring diagrams
Submit accurate and detailed service reports, time cards and other required paperwork in a timely manner
Requirements

Post-Secondary Education with a OBT2 and G2 Certification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the trade
Or a PM3/HVAC Ticket and pipe fitting experience with B139 Code knowledge for a minimum of 3 years’ experience
Highly safety conscious and experience with fuel system installation and retrofits
Knowledge of diesel engines systems and electrical controls system would be an asset
Independent, self-directed and a team player with solid business acumen and high integrity
Able to take direction from others and work with minimum supervision
Strong computer skills with experience on Word, Excel documents, email and report writing
Customer centric with strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate with customers in a manner to provide an excellent experience
Must possess basic hand tools for required responsibilities
Adaptable with often changing and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Willing and able to travel and work non-standard hours (with some overnight stays) as required to support our customer needs
Valid Driver's license and clean Driver's Abstract
