The Business Development Representative position is located in Vancouver and reports directly to the Sales Leader.
As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for selling maintenance agreements to new clients. As a member of the Service Sales team you will work with potential clients to evaluate their current situation and develop solutions that achieve their business objectives. Through ongoing training and development, you will use the proven Black & McDonald sales process to achieve your personal and departmental sales goals. The successful candidate would also assist the team in the development of long term client relationships. This position involves:
Researching, cold calling and setting up meetings with potential clients
Utilize proven sales methods to identify and solicit potential clients for future service work
Meet with and develop impressionable relationships with potential clients to successfully understand their needs and specific requirements
Assess potential client needs and resources and recommend the appropriate solution
Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of internal staff and customers
Work with Project Representative and provide input where non contractual HVAC related services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
Develop reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to potential clients
Prepare sales contracts under the direction of the Sales Team
Price the agreement according to the company pricing standards
Prepare start-up documents for set up and attend start up meetings with new clients
Continue personal professional development
Participate in department planning meetings as necessary
Keep internal software and database up to date with sales activities
Problem Solving and Innovation
Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Business or Marketing (or equivalent combination of education and experience) would be considered an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Prior experience as a business development/account representative or Sales related experience would be considered an asset.
Successful track record in sales financial negotiations, with a good insight into the needs, motives and emotions of the client or prospect
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrable communication skills either through work experience and/or education and would like to learn a more entrepreneurial role
High level of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality and accuracy with fellow employees and clients
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Competency in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Competency in a web based sales tracking software such as Sales Force
High degree of self-motivation and resilience
Passion for sales and developing long-lasting business relationships
Willing and able to travel within the Greater Vancouver area for site visits as needed
Clean Class 5 BC Drivers' license and abstract
