Vancouver Coastal Health has an exciting opportunity available for a Coordinator, Medical Affairs to join the Vancouver Community Services Administration team. As a Coordinator, Medical Affairs you will report to the Senior Medical Director, Vancouver Community. In this position you will be responsible for managing and coordinating a wide range of medical leadership assignments and special projects pertaining to policy, planning and/or operational issues.

Your responsibilities may include:
Ensuring that assignments are comprehensively planned, developed and executed in a manner consistent with Vancouver Community (VC) and Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) vision, values and strategic directions.
Collecting and analyzing information from a variety of sources, preparing reports and briefings, coordinating special projects, developing of policies and policy frameworks, while liaising with staff at all levels of the organization.
Providing advice to senior management and assisting in facilitating successful outcomes in terms of deliverables, timelines and costs of projects undertaken.
Leading and managing the work of project teams and working groups.
Providing work direction to administrative and support staff.
Liaising with external groups on behalf of department and participating in relevant committees and task groups.

Education & Experience

University Degree (Master's preferred) with major coursework in business administration, health information sciences or other relevant, related field plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recent, related experience including a minimum two (2) years of experience in providing professional-level research, policy or operational support at senior level and project management experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Computer competency in current word processing, spreadsheet, database, multimedia and project management applications required.
Additional knowledge of tools for statistical analysis and database applications would be desirable.

Knowledge & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to research, analyze, synthesize information and make effective recommendations on complex administrative, operational and policy issues and problems.
Excellent research and analytical skills and the ability to present research findings and difficult issues (verbally or in writing) in a manner that can be easily understood.
Knowledge and understanding of how to manage and use a broad range of health information systems and research.
Extensive knowledge of community healthcare operations both clinical and administrative.
Effectively translates data, information and trends from a range of sources into practical plans and useful recommendations.
Thinks conceptually, often identifying and understanding the impacts of change and the relevance of projects in a wider context.
Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with a wide-variety of groups, individuals and organizations including demonstrating effective consultation and facilitation skills.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
