The Manager of Information Technology Operations is currently seeking a System Administrator. The System Administrator will ensure streamlined operation for the hospitals hosting data center environment, in alignment with the hospitals objectives. The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, & design data center operational activities as well as provide support for the operational activities of the hosted MEDITECH Electronic Health Record environment. The successful candidate will identify, recommend, and support cost-effective technology solutions for the hosted environments.

Key Accountabilities:
Monitor the service desk and daily operations for the hosted environments including incident and request fulfillment, problem and incident management, being technical point of escalation in order to resolve and ensure service level agreements and client expectations are met

Perform operational support within hosted Electronic Health Record Environment, including day to day system management, administration, maintenance, services monitoring, event log issue resolution, patch and firmware management

Analyze, identify trends, report on, and make recommendations for operational workflow and process improvements within the hosted environments, leading all post incident reviews; Report monthly on established KPI and SLA’s

Perform feasibility and capacity studies and provide recommendations for upgrades and improvements; Assist in the evaluation and selection of infrastructure equipment and applications as part of life cycle planning of the Data Centre

Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes, perform installation of application service packs, patches, hot fixes, upgrades, & new features etc.; coordinate and document user testing, and obtain approval signoff

Review and approve all submitted change requests; Document business requirements and map business requirements to technical specifications in order to create implementation plans and lead execution for complex change requests/projects impacting the hosted shared environment

Develop, create and maintain system design, operating and restoration procedures, and as built technical documentation

In conjunction with the Manager of IT Operations, develop and implement IT standards and guidelines, including those for architecture, best practices, industry standards, and service delivery improvements

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and partnership support teams; liaise with third-party support and manage vendor relationships as required

ITIL Foundation Certification and one of either Microsoft or VMWare Certification required

Degree and/or Diploma in the field of computer science or management information systems or related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience, training and/or education.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of technologies including: Microsoft, Infrastructure Networks, thin client technologies, server virtualization, licensing, SAN/NAS storage and an awareness and understanding of additional software programmes and technologies relevant to technical infrastructure environments and monitoring in order to create environment; plan for growth & business continuity and disaster recovery; and implement and maintain server infrastructure

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of storage devices technology and equipment such as SAN/NAS/DAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, RAID, clustering or other technology

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of database administration and data backup/restore technologies and methodologies, including applicable data retention practices

Understanding of process improvement methodologies in order to analyze current state and identify areas for improvement and document future workflow process; Understanding of project management methodologies and principles in order to ensure initiatives are completed on time & within fiscal restraints

Vendor management strategies in order to maintain working relationships and ensure contract obligations met

Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results

Demonstrated analytical, planning and organizational skills

Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
