Sales & Operations Planning Manager


The Sales & Operations Planning Manager is responsible for the design, implementation and execution of Wolseley Canada’s S&OP process. This role is a key partnership with the Director, Supply Chain Planning, who is accountable to evolve S&OP into a Key Business Process wherein cross-functional consensus is reached on business plans.

This role will be required to leverage demand planning software to support data driven scenario planning and decision making. This position will collaborate within Supply Chain as well as cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing to develop and execute the monthly S&OP process.

Core function of the sales and operations meeting includes strategic and tactical decision-making related to demand and supply; and integrates financial and operating plans with strategic objectives to deliver improved operating and financial results.

The incumbent will:
Evolve an S&OP program that leverages industry best practices, while designing a process that suits Wolseley Canada’s business needs
Define pilot category for initial kick off (March 2019) and gain alignment from key stakeholders (GM’s)
Create S&OP process metrics and scorecards to drive consistent process & participation
Develop tools to support facilitation of monthly S&OP process including but not limited to: Action Register(s), Meeting Agenda, Calendars, Balanced Scorecard/KPI’s
Facilitate S&OP processes, meeting and cross functional collaboration with key stakeholders (Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Finance). Includes demand and supply planning, category review, consensus between functions and stakeholders
Drive and maintain SLT engagement in S&OP by soliciting input and facilitating the business decision-making process
Track performance metrics to identify opportunities and challenges; provide insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement to the S&OP process
Hold participants accountable for resolution on actions and decisions and communicate results to key stakeholders
Works closely with Demand Planning to assess critical KPIs vs Financial Targets and identify gaps
Effectively communicate with all business functions on priorities, status reports, and project updates
Conduct training on S&OP process and be the subject matter expert for Wolseley Canada

BS /MBA preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or equivalent.
SCMP or APICS an asset
Minimum of 6 to 10 years’ experience in Demand Planning, Supply planning, and Inventory Planning
Integrated Business Planning and Sales and Operations Planning experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity
Can plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
Must be able to work independently while still functioning well in a team
Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, written and verbal communication and presentation skills to working level as well as executive levels
Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship management with internal & external business partners / customers
