Parsons has been successful in winning environmental and abandoned mine projects in Northern Canada and is aggressively pursuing additional northern projects. We are looking for staff who have experience managing operations and construction at northern active and abandoned mines. The successful candidates will provide expertise and technical assistance to a team managing ongoing operations and construction at unique northern abandoned mines.

Mine Manager:
Diploma or degree in related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of work experience managing mines with project wide responsibility for health and safety and environmental compliance;
2+ years of work experience in remote northern locations
Experience leading and directing heavy civil or complex remediation projects is an asset
Ability to oversee site wide contaminated water management
Comprehensive knowledge of open pit and underground mining processes
Knowledge of Yukon and Northwest Territories mine acts and regulations preferred
Familiarity with surface water management, groundwater management, and water treatment processes
Strong understanding of the operation of mechanical and electrical systems
Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in various elemental conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
Proficient computer skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) are a must.
Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Superintendent - Care & Maintenance:
15+ years of cumulative experience managing the year-round maintenance and operation in cold climates and remote locations of: Mine electrical generation and transmission infrastructures - Clean and contaminated water pumping and piping systems
Provide overall site water management
Oversee water management systems including 6,000gpm plus lime-based water treatment plants
Experience managing a fleet of at least 10 pieces of heavy equipment
5+ years of experience in similar role at Mine closure projects in very cold climates and remote conditions preferred
Relevant education and/or certification
Familiarity with surface water and groundwater management, pumping and conveyance
Good understanding of electrical generation and transmission infrastructure
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as well as Lead a team of operations staff
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Good organizational skills, with ability to manage and prioritize several assignments simultaneously.
Willing to work indoor and outdoor in various elemental conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc. and comfortable working in extreme climates
Proficient computer skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) are a must.
Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Superintendent – Construction:
15+ years of work experience in civil, heavy civil, northern mining or remediation projects
Experience managing onsite activities of multiple subcontractors
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to operate self-sufficiently in field environments
Proven ability to prepare reports and documentation
Willing to work indoor and outdoor in various elemental conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc. and comfortable working in extreme climates.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient computer skills -Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) are a must.
Ability to lift up to 20 kg.
Valid class 5 driver’s license.
