About the Role

The Accounts Payable Clerk works on a team with four AP Accountants who report to the Accounts Payable Manager. This role is an opportunity for junior level accounting professional to gain experience with high-volume, complex accounting while servicing numerous stakeholders both internally and externally. The team handles the AP processing for multiple entities with multi-level coding.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem-solving, has excellent communication skills and is looking to learn and develop in their career.

Key Responsibilities include:
Scanning and uploading invoices to Yardi;
Ensure invoices have accurate coding and approvals before processing into the accounting system;
Preparing cheques for mailout;
Downloading regular invoice packages for large vendors and preparing EFT remittances;
Acting as the front-line for vendor inquiries and communication;
Setting up new vendors in the accounting system;
Receive and verify invoices related to multiple operating entities;
Code and enter employee expenses in an accurate and efficient manner;
Assist with weekly cheque runs and EFT payments;
Assist with corporate expense reconciliations and other ad hoc projects as required.

Our Must Haves

At least 1-3 years of experience with high‐volume accounting;
Excellent interpersonal skills and business communicaton skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated experience in a professional office environment;
Post-secondary education in business or accounting and finance;
Experience with Yardi or an enterprise level accounting system is preferred;
Advanced Excel (Ability to create spreadsheets, vLookups, Pivot Tables) skills
Strong MS Excel and the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
