Reporting to the Child and Youth Supervisor, the Child and Youth Coordinator is responsible for member satisfaction in the Child and Youth Program area through supporting development, evaluation, and leadership within child and youth programs. Additional responsibilities include light administrative work.


  • Manage, coach and support the program team to provide quality program
  • Develop and implement an annual program plan, and introduce creative and innovative program options or services on an ongoing basis to enhance program quality and member service
  • Perform Human Resource management (including recruitment/selection, training, performance management, recognition) for the program staff/volunteer team
  • Provide direct leadership and direct delivery to role model YMCA Standards, YMCA values and Commitment to Service
  • Develop and manage programs in accordance with the approved budget
  • Develop and involve volunteers through training, relationship building and appreciation events
  • Make decisions and solve problems regarding programs, member concerns and behaviour
  • Provide direct delivery at membership services counter
  • Develop and sustain good member, staff, volunteer and partner relations
  • Understand and support YMCA philanthropic initiatives

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post secondary degree/diploma in Recreation, Physical Education or related experience

· Minimum 3 years related work experience
· Minimum 3 years staff/volunteer supervisory experience
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR certification

  • Current Criminal Record check including Vulnerable Position Screening
