The primary purpose of this position is to serve the Residents by attending to their medical needs throughout the day and night, provide guidance and support for CCA role, and leadership within the scope of practice. All tasks are to be approached in a spirit of teamwork, within and among departments, to ensure cooperation and completion in an efficient manner. As with every role, theunderlying responsibility is the care and safety of each Resident. As such, the tasks required in fulfilling the responsibilities of this position, and the day-to-day routines / schedules for completing these tasks, are secondary only to ensuring the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each Resident are met.


  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
  • BLS certification
  • Communicate clearly and professionally using a variety of communication skills; document and report as per Alderwood policy

Use appropriate aseptic techniques to promote Infection Prevention and Control Measures

  • Protect own health and the health of others by adopting safe work practices and promote healthy lifestyle choices
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Actively participate in self-development and mandatory training programs to enhance professional knowledge and skills necessary to provide a high quality care

Salary: $26.56-$28.52 per hour
