Basic Function

Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager of Warehouse, Facilities, Distribution and Logistics, the Supervisor of Logistics and Facilities will be responsible for providing leadership and managing the day-to-day warehouse operations & transportation for a GMP compliant distribution center for specialty pharmaceutical products.

Nature and Scope

Directs the efficient and cost-effective operation of the warehouse. Manages inbound activities related to the receipt and storage of goods, inventory management, and claims. Oversees outbound activities related to order-filling, stock replenishment, and shipping. Responsible for budgeting, customer service, facility and equipment operation. Administers overall inventory management, productivity, accuracy, and loss prevention programs to ensure that customer requirements are met. Provide a safe and secure environment for associates and assets. This role will have primary accountability of after hour on-call for emergencies and all other departmental related activities.

What you will do:
Provide for optimum level receiving and shipping efficiencies.
Coordinates inbound and / or outbound activities.
Organize, schedule, & staff warehouse to appropriate levels.
Analysis of strategic and tactical processes and costs relating to warehouse operations.
Maintain safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation programs.
Provide information, analysis, and recommendations on overall warehouse operation.
Develop and maintain effective disaster recovery program for warehouse operations.
Responsible for inventory including receiving goods, adjustments, put away and storage. Ensure all material is handled within procedures and check all materials for correct specifications.
Organizes and assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience and labor hours to the best advantages to obtain most favorable costs, accuracy, and completeness.
Identify new technologies and information systems as required
Develops stock location and order picking strategies to optimize workflow, space utilization, and labor productivity in warehouse facilities.
Improve and coordinate facility layouts to maximize space utilization, productivity, and safety.
Maintains knowledge of warehouse computer system (SAP) and required data entry.
Ensure all cross-functional areas operate in a smooth and accurate fashion with the least amount of disruptions and communicate all goals and objectives to all team leaders within area.
Responsible for reviewing processes and procedures on a regular basis to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Coach, train, develop and discipline employees to achieve facility goals and objectives
Pro-actively implement tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality and safety results
Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area’s key indices to identify unfavorable trends and to take corrective action
Review work upon completion as well as random spot checks for adherence to guidelines and standards and provide necessary feedback.
Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices.
Recommend methods for improving associate efficiency and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
Perform root cause analysis on receipt discrepancies by interacting with team members and other departments
Ensure Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are set, maintained and tracked daily for improvements. KPIs include: production attainment and line utilization.
Manage a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with company, legal, and other standards and regulations. Ensures adherence to proper safety and sanitation regulations and the appropriate policies/procedures.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, team and senior management in order to communicate effectively and strategically implement solutions.
Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, developing accountability in associates, and measuring results.
Report all Adverse Events (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures
Responsible to ensure all appropriate SOPs, ROPs and Work Instructions are in place for the direction of staff in the performance of their job including the creation of new SOPs or ROPs as required to meet business needs or changes.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable GMP & Health Canada guidelines and ensure all guideline are adhered to.
The individual provides support to management in the realization of initiatives and projects.
Prepare and analyze request for proposal (RFP) with Manager for efficient delivery of products and services.
Determine areas of cost savings and recommend standardization when beneficial to SHN.

What you will need:
Coordination, Organization, Planning, Time Management, Reporting Skills, Inventory Control, Documentation Skills, Dependability

3-5 years-supervisory experience in warehousing/distribution preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
Inventory & Warehouse Management Systems experience (SAP preferred)
Proficiency with MS Office computer programs
GMP training & experience
Cold chain management experience preferred
Excellent understanding of customer service, logistics, and problem solving
Must demonstrate initiative and judgment while planning and implementing workload and projects
Post-Secondary education in a professional or technical diploma or degree program
