As a result of our continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Vard Electro Canada team. As Proposal Manager you will play a critical role in developing high quality proposals to win work. You will be responsible, at times, for establishing and implementing additional processes, assurances, governance and procedures required to improve our win rates. The role is a highly networked position and requires the ability to understand and resolve technical, strategic, people, and business issues.

Proposal Manager Responsibilities:
Working with the Business leads; develop and agree on a successful strategy for each proposal.
Conveying the strategy to team members from all functional areas responsible for submitting costs and schedules in support of the proposal.
Defining and gathering all the requisite inputs from functional departments to support the generation of the proposal and review and scrutinize those inputs to assure they are well-founded and that they accurately reflect the scope of work to be performed.
Ensuring compliance with established company processes and synthesizing the proposal for presentation to management for required approvals.
Arranging, with the help of the Capture Lead, the Gate 1 (Bid/No Bid) and Gate 2 (Submission Approval) reviews and presenting to the Management audience (either Local, Region, Country, Global Business Line/Unit in line with the Proposal’s Complexity),
Maintaining a close and professional working relationship between internal functional departments; promoting an attitude of cooperation and solidarity in the responsible pursuit of new contracts and the expansion of our business.
Proactively participating in identifying key barriers and risks to the attainment of the above listed primary objectives and formulate plans and actions to improve our overall effectiveness and performance in developing winning proposals
Preparing and reviewing the proposal budget by ensuring all services are included in the final price.
Ensuring risk management tracking throughout the proposal process.
Participating in working groups to address proposal process issues and other related proposal generation workshops aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of the proposal development process.
Coordinating and leading all post proposal reviews with customers and post contract award.
Supporting departmental needs on any special projects.
Complying with our administrative policies and procedures as set forth from time to time.
Such other duties as we may request which are consistent with your abilities and responsibilities.

Proposal Manager Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering or equivalent is required
5+ years’ experience managing proposals from $100k to $50M.
Fundamental understanding of contract language.
Previous experience in sales, is an asset.
Proven proficiency in Microsoft suite.
Full command on English language (spoken and written).
Able to write creatively.
Previous experience working with multiple stakeholders and prioritize requests.
Experience in the marine, engineering or construction industry is an asset.

Other Requirements:
Must be eligible to meet the requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian. government security clearance.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Willingness to work flexible hours with occasional work outside of regular working hours to accommodate time zones.
Occasional travel may be required.
