Our team in the Calgary office is seeking a Contract Administrator who will observe the construction of a single or multiple projects to ensure that Contractors and Owners are fulfilling their respective roles and obligations as outlined in the construction contract.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform site visits to determine compliance with construction contract and relevant building and safety codes; prepare reports to document progress, identify any deviation from the construction contract and liaise with owner and contractor to resolve issues in a timely manner
Track and review shop drawings, schedules, samples, progress payments, alternate requests, and project change documents to ensure all project documentation is accurate and complete
Coordinate with contractor, sub-consultants or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns
Prepare project change documentation, including sketches and drawings
Attend and conduct progress meetings before, during, and after the duration of the project to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns with various key stakeholders; prepare and issue meeting minutes
Ensure that all project close out documents are submitted and forwarded to appropriate parties upon completion of the project
Assist design and technical staff with constructability reviews and feedback
Represent organization and interact in a professional manner with client, sub-consultant and contractor representatives
Gain familiarity with current building systems and code changes to improve skills on project work
Attend regular Studio coordination meetings to report on progress and issues related to the incumbent’s assigned projects.
Qualifications
Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
Is proficient in Architectural or Engineering systems and design
Is familiar with Architectural design and presentation; intermediate M&E, structural building systems, permits and building codes
Have experience in administration of construction projects and coordination and administration of multi-disciplinary construction activities
Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
Demonstrates flexibility and resourcefulness in fulfilling duties and responsibilities
Membership in a relevant professional association is an asset
