PROFILE

Gowling WLG is looking for an experienced lawyer in banking and financial services to join a dynamic and active team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in various transactions pertaining to secured loans/bank loan financings where a number of financial structures are used such as syndicated loans, subordinate financings/mezzanine financings and asset-backed loans.
Assist with regard to loans in which borrowers are limited liability partnerships, limited partnerships or trusts, as well as corporations or individuals.
Advise clients on issues related to financing matters and pertaining to business law in general.
Represent lenders as well as borrowers.

QUALIFICATIONS

5 to 7 years’ experience in banking and financial services.
Experience in real estate law, insolvency or restructuring are definite assets.
High level of motivation, commitment and leadership.
Excellent skills in interpersonal relations and team work.
Ability to manage several matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment where the ability to meet deadlines is as important as attention to detail.
Excellent drafting and oral communication skills.
Bilingualism (French/English).
