Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Directors and above
Be involved in the financial management of clients
Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
Develop project strategies to solve complex technical challenges for our clients
Manage and deliver large projects by developing the project team, assessing engagement risks throughout, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
Shape and deliver projects to meet and exceed the expectations of our clients and our own quality criteria
Train, coach, and supervise team members
Continue to develop internal relationships and developing your PwC brand

PwC is seeking a driven consulting professional to join as an Industry Senior Manager based in Toronto. As a member of the local Industry team, you will serve as a catalyst to generate pipeline and sell services from our various consulting practices in our managed accounts and our largest clients. You will be involved in the delivery of services in areas where you bring industry relevance and subject matter expertise. This exciting new opportunity will allow you to showcase your strong sales expertise while being a key player in growing this new area of our Consulting practice in the GTA.

Responsibilities:
Sales:
Work with the account team to uncover target accounts’ business issues

Develop new ideas and service opportunities relevant to target issues

Identify, develop and win significant bids and pursuits to meet defined sales targets

Coach, guide and assist team members, as appropriate, in preparation for client meetings, presentations and proposals

Lead complex sales pursuits and bring together multidisciplinary practitioners into integrated solutions to deliver winning proposals to clients

Consult with account team and engagement partner on pricing strategy

Actively leads and foster joint activity with other account teams to win enterprise wide initiatives

Relationship Management:
Establish, develop, strengthen and maintain relationships with people at all levels

Walk the halls of the target accounts in order to gather intelligence, strengthen relationships and surface potential opportunities

Consistently focus on driving opportunities that build on our existing relationships, and allow us to leverage these relationships, and develop them into new partnerships.

Connect with key global PwC players by industry and function, to increase your account’s name recognition in key geographies where there may be opportunities for growth

Attend and organize key industry events in order to network with relevant stakeholders, gain industry insight, an understanding of client strategy/challenges and represent the firm in the marketplace

Demonstrate understanding of client’s business by clearly defining relevance and key insights within the thought leadership pieces sent to client

Keep client appraised of business opportunities in the subsidiary entities and ensure the client is not surprised by any work being performed by PwC

Focus on the needs of the client and how can we help them achieve their strategic objectives and mandates – ex. through client introductions or key industry relationships

Account Management:
Work with account teams to set sales and revenue objectives, develop account strategies, create account plans and monitor results. In conjunction with the account teams, create a culture of co-leadership and accountability among every team member.

Manage the sales funnel through regular meetings and/or conference calls with account team

Attend deals calls and sales meetings and report on key activities and results

Delivery of services:
Lead or participate, as needed, to delivery engagements to build trusted relationships with key client executives and teams

Coach our practices’ delivery teams on client’s industry

Harvest leading practices and experiences from the network and share industry relevant knowledge to our teams for consideration in realizing their engagements

Ensure cohesiveness across our engagements and various practices delivering work at our clients under your responsibility

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Strong personal relationships within the C-Suite of key clients / managed accounts

Strong personal connections within the Region’s software and other consulting vendor communities

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a series of progressive sales, business development and account management roles, within a professional services firm or large corporation

Previous experience in the delivery of large business transformation, digital transformation and IT projects

Strong understanding of consumer packaged goods industry and supply chain.

Demonstrated understanding of Sales & Relationship Experience working in a dynamic, sophisticated environment where change is the norm

Established presence within the community

A post-secondary education in business/commerce (preferred)

Personal Competencies:
High degree of tact, diplomacy, confidence, resilience and patience

Professionalism and poise (“executive presence”)

Executive-level communication skills (CEO/COO, VP, etc.)

The ability to communicate effectively, consult with others, develop relationships quickly, both internally and externally, facilitate group discussions, make presentations

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent judgment and strong problem solving skills, including the ability to analyse and understand the impact of relevant options

High energy and the flexibility to perform under short time constraints to meet deadlines

Exceptional self-starter, both team oriented and able to work autonomously
