CDNetworks’ Customer Solutions Engineers are trusted technical advisors to our team, our prospects, and our company. By monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting our global CDN infrastructure and handling technical support issues promptly, you will ensure smooth performance and availability of our services. In this role, you will also be responsible for requirements gathering, solution development, and technical proof of concept (POC). This requires asking questions to understand the customer need and environment and determining the technical fit of our services through presentations, technical evaluations, and implementations. You should be a team player who enjoys interacting with people and has a ‘can-do’ attitude. As part of the position you will get to contribute to future system design and processes for improving current and new services all while running a geographically distributed 24x7 critical network relied upon by many global companies. You should also have a passion for solving complex technical problems!
University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Internet/Network Security or related discipline.
At least 5 years relevant experience with direct hands-on exposure to operating and troubleshooting network / web / application / endpoint security services.
Strong knowledge of CDN-based Cloud Security e.g. DDoS mitigation, web application security, and web performance is preferred.
Solid understanding of Internet Delivery Protocols (i.e. DNS, TCP/ IP, HTTP) and Hosting Infrastructure (i.e. load balancers) is required and use of protocol analyzers, such as Fiddler, LiveHTTPHeaders, and Firebug
Strong Linux or Windows system administrator skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills appropriate to both technical and management audiences
A multi-tasker with strong analytical skills
Solid understanding of HTML and web application concepts and architectures
Understanding of SaaS or other cloud-based services and markets
Understanding of web server (e.g., Apache) or CMS deployments, including server configuration in a Web 2.0 environment
Preferred skills and experience
Possess web security and compliance experience (e.g., Firewalls, IPSec VPN, SSL, IDS/IPS systems, DDoS prevention and PCI, SOX, HIPAA, etc.)
Possess at least 1 or more security-related certifications, such as CISSP, CEH, CISA, CISM, SECURITY+, OSCP, etc
Practical skills of deploying and operating network and network security appliances, e.g. switches, routers, firewalls, IPS, WAF
Practical knowledge of Internet transit, e.g. BGP and AnyCast
Proficiency in both English and Chinese is preferred, as you may need to work with advanced tier support teams in China and South Korea.
