An hourly rate of $50.00/hr is offered as compensation to the selected qualified applicant. LOA at a daily flat rate of $125/day. Overtime as per BC Labour Laws.

Looking for a highly skilled and experienced lowbed operator to work throughout BC and Alberta. Must have extensive knowledge and experience in all permitting, rules, and regulations to do with lowbed operations. US DOT experience and certification is an asset. Configurations may include but not limited to:

6 to 10 axle jeep, trailer, booster combinations

Scraper Dolly combination

16 Wheel (Wheeler) Lowbed Operations 5 to 9 axle

Tridem/Super B-train Gravel Combinations

This job will require considerable time away from home base and often irregular hours. Living Out Allowance (LOA) will be paid for every overnight away from home. Must be able to schedule on short notice, including weekends. Must also be able to operate gravel trailer operations when not lowbedding. It is expected that the inside of the truck will be kept very clean at all times. The driver is responsible for washing the exterior of both the truck and trailer combination at company expense. Smoking is not permitted inside company vehicles. Adherence to cleanliness is a requirement of employment.

Must have PPE available at all times while on duty and in good condition (CSA approved footwear that rises above the ankle, high-vis vest, hard hat, CSA approved safety glasses, and gloves).

An agreed upon inventory of tools will be supplied to the driver along with consumables for minor repairs to truck and trailer. It is expected that minor repairs such as minor air leaks or electrical issues will be repaired by the driver.

Damage to truck or trailer other than normal wear and tear, will not be tolerated. We provide good working equipment and expect it to remain that way. Unit inspection logs as well as daily reports are to be emailed in everyday, so must be able to use a smart phone and/or tablet.

Driver will be expected to have a positive attitude towards a safety and safe work company culture. Lake Excavating believes in holding the highest standards in safety for its employees and customers, incident reporting as well as investigating will be expected. In some cases the driver may need to undergo drug and alcohol testing.
