Reporting to the Superintendent, Construction, The Coordinator, Piping/ Fabrication Construction will provide coordination to projects' construction with focus on the safe execution of, and reporting on, all project construction activities.
Monitor Construction, identify, address, escalate compliance problems to the Superintendent for resolution.
Ongoing construction status reporting to construction Superintendent.
Provide liaison service between contractors, projects group and maintenance.
Support Sherritt's objectives to deliver zero harm to employees, environment, and neighboring communities by providing comprehensive job planning and execution for all project construction work completed at Sherritt Fort Saskatchewan Site.
Coordinate work at an activity level for example, Hydro tests, Fabrication, fit ups, NDE, Leak testing, service testing.
Interfaces with the Construction Supervisor, Project Manager and Clients to schedule and forecast.
Develop Job Plans and provide input to construction work packages.
Sherritt contact for specific Trade Project construction activities, MAP, road closures, AIRTAS investigation, receiving, resourcing, liaison with outside parties during construction.
Evaluation of processes, gathering feedback, making recommendations to enhance Asset Management program.
Review specific Engineering Scope IFR, IFC and ITPs including all RFIs / scope changes and provide feedback.
Coordinators have specific responsibilities in line with ABSA, Alberta Safety Code Council, Stan Data, Canadian Electric Code, Sherritt QMP and PEIMS. Mechanical / pressure equipment coordinator will follow Sherritt 'PEIMS' and Electrical and Instrumentation coordinator will follow Sherritt QMP requirements respectively.
Qualifications and Skills
Journeyman or equivalent demonstrated skills.
10+ years of experience in Construction as tradesperson, or equivalent position.
Experience in similar industrial, mining, processing, manufacturing or related setting.
Prior experience as a Construction Coordinator is strongly preferred.
Effective written and verbal communications, time management, conflict management, and coordination skills.
Skill set understand engineering documents, such as P&IDs, SLDs, Gernal arrangement drawings, piping isometrics and similar drawings with physical assets is preferred.
Skill set to use word, Excel, SharePoint, EAM.
