Our diverse clients include film and TV productions, special events and concerts, large commercial and industrial facilities, IT server rooms, small offices and healthcare facilities.


As Controller with Cool Air Rentals, you will report to the Chief Operating Officer and enable us to achieve organizational growth goals through tactical and strategic accounting. Your responsibilities include:

Perform finance and full-cycle accounting activities; bookkeeping, billing, collections, reconciliation, payables and ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP as well as applicable federal, provincial and local regulations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports in addition to short- and long-term cash flow analysis and annual budgets.
Maintain and monitor tax compliance, tax filing, tax planning and reporting.
Develop methodologies, dashboards, and metrics for reporting and analysis of company operations and identify and drive opportunities for business process improvement.
Respond to various queries and manage positive relationships with affiliates, banks, and company auditors.
Manage 1 direct report and liaise with our external accounting firm for review engagements, quarterly and year-end reporting.
Manage the fleet and liability insurance coverage documents and execute the annual renewal.


You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (or equivalent).
You possess a professional accounting designation (CPA).
You have demonstrated 5+ years' experience in progressive accounting roles.
You are proficient in QuickBooks, payroll software systems (Payworks) and Microsoft Office.
You have knowledge of all aspects of financial accounting and management and possess strong financial acumen.
You are an expert communicator, both written and orally.
You are a confident leader who identifies opportunities for improvement and brings a positive attitude to work.
You are a skilled problem solver who views situations with an analytical and forward thinking mindset.
You are extremely organized, and always ensure that you are exercising an appropriate level of discretion and maintaining confidentiality.
Experience in the equipment rental business is considered an asset.
