Health Standards Organization (HSO) is searching for a Specialist who shares our passion for achieving high quality health services. Looking for meaning in your work? As the Standards Publication Specialist, you get right to the core of it – our standards. You’ll ensure that our standards and related technical platforms (content management systems) meet the level of quality, usability, and innovation that is required. In doing this, you will be a key player in the development of products that will make a positive and lasting impact in the quality of healthcare services worldwide. We are building a bold and bright future for our enterprise and our clients. If you are looking for a challenge and seeking to be part of something larger than yourself, this position could be for you.

If you’re right for this opportunity, you are ready to jump in! You have a winning attitude, you’re a natural connector, and you make a great first impression. You have an aptitude for digital solutions and are eager to engage in cross-team collaboration to unlock the best possible solution for all users. You learn new systems with ease and do not shy from being the go-to person for staff inquiries. Last minute requests and changes don’t stress you out. You’ll have a full plate, but you’ll tackle it head-on with your knack for tracking, organizing and triaging multiple priorities, all the while maintaining attention to detail.

That sounds great – but what will I actually do?

Publication Master: Provide the oversight and quality assurance required to produce high quality standards. We’ll look to you for a final review of formatting, disclaimers, terminology, terms of use, copyright considerations…the list goes on. You’ll also use your technical finesse to make sure our digital platforms are ready for a new publication, including notices of intent, uploading to our site, etc.
SDO Champion: Oversee and action processes and requirements related to our status as a Standards Development Organization (SDO). Two pieces here: assistance in ensuring requirements for HSO to maintain our SDO status are met, as well as the requirements of each individual standard to meet this high level of quality scrutiny. We’ll count on you to know the rules inside out, and to keep us on track and ensure compliance.
Digital dexterity: You’ll be active across our digital platforms, as a user and as an innovator, working closely with our Digital Platforms team to improve our content management system.
Understand HSO’s value proposition. You’re one piece of the puzzle, but you see the full picture. You’ll use this perspective to critically examine processes and collaborate with teams across the organization to innovate solutions that work for us all.
Be a flexible, agile, team player. Contribute positively to the culture of our workplace by staying positive, engaged in the work you do and energized by the difference you’re making. The HSO team is our – and your – greatest asset. Lean on our team’s goldmine of talent and expertise to strengthen you in your role.

You have a unique history. Does it include the education and experience listed below?

2-4 years of progressive and varied experience in quality assurance, standards development, or communications.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Detail-oriented. You’ve heard this before, but we can’t stress it enough: the devil is in the details. You notice big and little mistakes, and are comfortable reviewing the work of your team and accepting the thorough review of your own work.
A proven ability to be flexible, and juggle multiple priorities. Last minute requests come in, priorities change, and we need someone who can stay positive, stay organized, and take it all in stride.
Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills. This is key. You’ll be interacting daily with the Standards team, teams across the organization, as well as with our customers and partners.
University degree or equivalent experience.

Bonus if you have:
Knowledge of the health care environment.
