Here's how you will contribute to the program:

  • Take responsibility for routine intake processes and decisions, following standard procedures
  • Coordinate intake with the counseling team; attend case management meetings to report on new intakes
  • Record intake processes and decisions
  • Develop case histories for all incoming clients/residents
  • Liaise with referral sources and other external agencies as needed
  • Conduct comprehensive program orientation for all clients/residents

What you need to get an interview:

  • Completed up to 2 years of Community College in a related field and a Certificate or Diploma in Human Sciences/Addictions
  • One to three years of prior related experience
  • Demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills
  • Exhibit problem solving abilities and be able to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced highly challenging front line environment
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check
  • Emergency First Aid/ Level A or C CPR Certification (or will have 2 months to complete
  • Willing to support the mission of The Salvation Army, work in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner

Candidates with a Social Work education are required to be registered with the ACSW

Regular Full time 40 hours per week (Tuesday to Saturday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm)
