This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health and Addictions and/or designate, the Secretary III provides clerical support to the Mental Health and Addictions. The secretarial team is responsible for ensuring that the offices are run in a smooth, efficient and professional manner and that good working relationships are fostered within their respective sites as well as with the Inpatient Units. The Secretary III meets standards of professionalism which reflect the vision, mission, goals and objectives and adheres to the policies and procedures of Mental Health and Addictions.
The Secretary III ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.
Graduate of a recognized office administration program with medical terminology and transcription required
Minimum of two years’ recent related experience, preferably in a medical setting required
Ability to use Microsoft Windows and all components of Microsoft Office including Excel, Power Point, Outlook
Typing skills – minimum of 60 words per minute
Demonstrated current knowledge of Medical Terminology
Able to transcribe dictation in a prompt and accurate manner
Demonstrated communication skills & excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills including ability to work as a team member and ability to foster collaborative relationships
Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and ability to work independently
Demonstrated judgment and decision making skills

Experience in a health care or hospital setting an asset
Knowledge of Meditech (CWS and Admissions) an asset
Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
