Do you have a passion for numbers, organization and attention to detail? We are seeking an Accounting Clerk, to join our Finance Department, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, with the following responsibilities:



  • Prepare daily trust account deposits for numerous banks
  • Process daily trust cheques, obtain signatures from authorized signers and distribute cheques accordingly. Process rush cheques when necessary
  • Process outgoing trust wires
  • Post incoming trust wires to appropriate files
  • Transfer funds from mixed trust account to various investment trust accounts
  • Purchase GIC’s and Term Deposits
  • Trust transfers (to pay accounts, between matters and between clients)


  • Prepare daily general bank deposit (cheques)
  • Post daily general bank deposit (cheques, wires, EFT’s)
  • Match and post incoming wire disbursement charges
  • Post disbursements and levy
  • Process credit card payments
  • Convert funds into foreign currencies
  • Process and post NSF cheques


  • Assist other staff in the Accounting Department when needed

Qualifications or Skills Required:

  • One to two year’s previous general accounting (law firm or professional services experience an asset)
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary program in a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical skills and previous experience using an accounting software system
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills
  • Friendly, helpful and service oriented disposition
  • Ability to problem solve, possess good judgement and uphold confidentiality
