Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor provides management of facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and supervising maintenance efforts for the plant. Provides leadership and supervision of the maintenance team and applies the Carmeuse guiding principles in the course of supervising the maintenance team.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Brief the JHSC, when necessary, on any issues requiring their attention

Understand and follow the collective bargaining agreement

Compliance with documented procedures, work instructions and guidelines

Identify and implement statistical techniques as required

Review the priority work orders of the day with maintenance supervisors/planner

Provide technical and tactical support to the Maintenance Planner, Engineer and Production Supervisor

Explains significant variances from the plan and provides leadership for improvements within the maintenance groups

Review barriers identified in order to develop and monitor action plans to overcome the obstacles

Maintain equipment to ensure quality of product during process in compliance to ISO quality system

Develop corrective action plans for prevention of future customer complaints

Assist the Planner and Supervision with obtaining needed manuals, blue prints, schematics, and service bulletins

Work with outside vendors on technical issues pertaining to the mechanical/electrical repair

Follow up on the failure rate or reliability of the major installations of critical equipment using RFCA ( Root Cause Failure Analysis) to prevent future occurrences.

Follow up maintenance overtime, and other maintenance costs such as shifts worked, ratio of maintenance time spent working on planned, unplanned and other work

Monitor workload to evaluate the staffing levels

Compile and maintain a calibration list of inspection, measuring and test process equipment, establish calibration frequencies and verify calibration status

Determine root cause, implement corrective action and document Customer Complaints, In house and Internal Audit non-conformances in a timely manner in area of responsibility

Verify the effectiveness of solutions within area of responsibility

Documentation and maintenance of records

Job Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience in construction, manufacturing and/or industrial settings related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc

Demonstrated competency in preventative and predictive maintenance, and computerized maintenance management systems

Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills

Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic

Fluency in spoken and written English
