Program Director World FM / Community Liaison Officer OMNI Television

Rogers Media Inc. is seeking a Program Director to manage World FM in Edmonton and be a Community Liaison Officer for OMNI Television in Alberta. This combined role will lead World FM’s on-air and digital experience, be responsible for talent, content and programming, and be an ambassador to the diverse Alberta communities for both OMNI Television and World FM.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute day-to-day and long-term programming plan for World FM
Management, motivation and recruitment of the World FM programming team
Coordinate with promotions, news and creative teams to accomplish optimum sound for World FM in accordance with the station format and goals
Directly responsible for announcers and their on-air presentation, coaching and development
Work in conjunction with Programming and Sales to support local, national and corporate business goals to increase market share and revenue
Manage budgets for programming department
Maintain competitive market knowledge and awareness
Liaise with independent community producers for OMNI Television in Alberta while coaching producers with the goal to improve quality of each show
Recruit and evaluate new proposals as needed to ensure OMNI serves the needs of its communities, including but not limited to under-served communities
Support leadership with OMNI Prairies Advisory Council
Ensure stations comply with CRTC regulations
Work with management to meet or exceed compliance and KPI targets
Keep current on web/social media and other alternative revenue opportunities
Be a valued Rogers ambassador while attending sponsored events and community meetings
Evaluate and execute community media sponsorship opportunities
Update community events on OMNI and World FM websites
Ensure all documentation including legal contracts are executed and maintained as per policy
Provide input on community issues and bring forth any relevant concerns to management immediately

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience in programming management or comparable experience
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with multiple stakeholders
Ability to analyse research data, make business decisions based on analysis; sound judgment and quality decision-making skills
Strong leadership skills, including motivation of staff; can set goals & expectations, provide honest feedback and manage performance
Must have ability to work in a multifaceted fast paced environment
Results oriented
On-air experience would be an asset
Knowledge of Music Master/Wide Orbit Systems
Knowledge of production equipment and editing software to support independent producers with technical issues for their shows
Schedule: Full time
