Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain – North America (CASC NA) connects agricultural producers to food, feed and industrial customers through a seamless supply chain. We help our customers compete in the global market and efficiently deliver products from origins to destinations through our marketing, sourcing, originating, storing, trading, consulting and processing of grain, oilseeds and crop inputs products and solutions. Position Purpose and Impact
Reporting to the Transportation and Logistics Manager - Grain this position will be part of team of logistic professionals focused on fluid supply chain management by optimizing the movement of grain and oilseeds from Country elevator position by truck and rail to our port terminal locations and North American end-use customers. Additionally, this position will also be responsible to make sure we follow Cargill’s Project Portfolio Management (PPM) process and do an outstanding job of developing, planning and executing on projects.
30% - Regionally coordinate the movement of grain from country elevator position to port terminals and North American end-use destination.
20% - Maximize the shipment capacity and rail incentives of the country elevators by effectively planning and executing location shipment opportunities and maintaining a set of key performance indicators to quickly determine potential pipeline fluidity issues and make the appropriate decisions to resolve the issue.
20% - Be a channel to the Grain Pipeline Manager, Rail Transportation team, Truck Logistics Team, Regions, and Commodity Merchant to ensure that effective and timely movement of grain and oilseeds.
10% - Develop, communicate & maintain long, medium and short term plans for the pipeline to ensure alignment between rail, truck & terminal capacity and export sales/FSG origination programs. Additionally, the position may be required to back-up Grain Pipeline Mgr’s & Rail Transportation team as needed.
10% - This position will be using Cargill’s project management and project delivery process [PDP] methodologies. The projects you lead will include various subject matter experts from the business unit Cargill who will be assigned to the project on either a full or part-time basis.
10% - Projects within this area will require use of Process Improvement methods. In some cases, and in addition to your project management responsibilities, you will execute some project work using process improvement methods as well as coach/train other project team members on the same. The success of this area will play a major factor in moving towards a process-honoring company.
- Completion of a degree/diploma in Business Accounting, Economics, Agriculture or Administration or equivalent work experience
- Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of logistics and/or operations/merchandising
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multi-tasking
- Experience leading project teams
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

- Supply Chain Management experience
- Agriculture experience
- Proven experience in project management and process improvement methodologies.
- PMI [Project Management Institute] certification or equivalent Project Management experience
