The Senior Financial Analyst role is structured as a rotational position that will have placements in the JV/Strategic Initiatives and FP&A team during 6 to 9-month rotations. This role will be responsible for financial modelling, data analysis, strategic planning initiatives and building new reporting infrastructure for the Greater Toronto West (GTW) Division.

This role involves creating strong partnerships with leaders across the business in order to provide valuable insights to support operational and strategic decision making. This role requires someone that is comfortable rolling up their selves and getting into the details. Job Details

Contribute to GTW Division’s role as a pioneer in setting new standards and processes across all Canadian Divisions
Rotate through two Finance teams including FP&A and JV/Strategic Initiatives on 6 to 9-month placements
Work closely with the FP&A, Operations Finance, Joint Venture and Reporting teams to help understand their needs for accurate and timely source data
Ensure day-to-day business operations transmit clean data into JD Edwards (“JDE”) for forward looking analysis and decision making
Develop strategic business partnerships with functional leaders through effective communication and translating financial and operational impacts into easy-to-understand terms
Spearhead JDE process optimization by working across divisions in Canada to identify, communicate and implement best practices company-wide
Organize new processes and reporting structures to better understand cash flow variances from month-to-month and versus budget /forecast
Recommend and implement improvements to realize cost savings and efficiencies by summarizing findings in formal memos outlining issues, implications and recommendations
Develop financial models and KPI dashboards to drive initiatives, monitor trends, identify exceptions and support the budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes
Build analytical templates that help operations teams understand the impact of decision making as it pertains to cash flow and income statement impacts.
Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis requested by Departments, Central Services, etc.

What You Bring

University degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
2 to 4+ years of experience in a finance department or public accounting firm
CPA designation or completion of CFE
Homebuilding and real estate development experience is an asset
Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion, Essbase is an asset or ability to quickly learn new software packages
Advanced knowledge of Excel including regular use of functions, pivot tables, etc.
Effective problem solver who takes initiative to find solutions in a creative manner
Strong analytical, accounting and organizational skills with attention to detail
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate well with people at all levels of the organization (analysts, managers, VP’s and non-finance departments)
Results oriented with ability to set realistic and attainable goals and meet those on time
Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity
