This position is located in North Vancouver, BC based with our valued client who provides the highest level of service in the bulk export industry. Reporting to the Team Lead Maintenance Planner & Scheduler, the Facility Planner is accountable for identifying and managing all factors relevant to achieving safe, environmentally responsible and cost effective maintenance planning and scheduling. This role will work closely with Operations, Reliability and Maintenance Execution to plan and schedule all outstanding common services activities.
- SCOPE OVERVIEW:
- Area 1 – ‘Structural’
the planning of all work related to Grating and Handrail deficiencies
the EMS Tech Stacker Clip replacement
all structural deficiencies listed in the Structural Report
‘translate’ the current findings into proper job plans, prioritize those, and include them in JDE into the work order pool that can be then taken on by the maintenance teams (according to the respective priorities)
Deliver Medium range Planning and Scheduling activities across all Maintenance Infrastructure and common services functional areas.
Perform field inspections and determine the appropriate job work scopes
Develop an effective maintenance plan in SAP and modify plan for variations due to availability of resources due to operations, actual work completed, or additional work requirements.
Develop cost and time estimates of the planned maintenance work
Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality
Be responsible for up-keep and accuracy of equipment maintenance history and job records database
Be responsible for up-keep and accuracy of technical information on processes, plant and equipment
Continually improve the planning, scheduling, purchasing, stores, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency assuring that the work is planned to meet all important maintenance, construction and start-up dates.
Maximize resource productivity by identifying parts, materials, special tools, external services, rentals and documentation
Preparation of job plans ready for scheduling detailing parts, materials, special tools, external services and documentation with planned costs
Identification of safety, EH&S, permit and communication requirements
Preparation of job plans to include the sequencing of associated tasks, taking into account multi-craft alignment.
Maintain and continuously improve job plans
Must have a Grade 12 or GED
Journeyman Trade Certified, Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent technical and operational experience.
Dynamic individual with 2 to 5 years minimum planning experience
A working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably JDE, SAP or Similar) and material management systems
Proficient with Microsoft office products such as Word & Excel
For this role we are looking for a colleague with a structural/mechanical trade background and experience in planning for this type work.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Strong technical knowledge of Maintenance best practices for oil sands common services
In depth understanding of Maintenance Best Practices for common services in the Oil Sands Industry
Solid appreciation of quality and risk management methods and practices related to plant and equipment
Strong working knowledge of specific equipment:
fixed overhead cranes and doors, facilities infrastructure, fire prevention and detection, HVAC etc..
In depth understanding of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling concepts in JDE
Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative and leadership skills are required
Motivated, self-starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
Exercises good judgment on complex decisions
