Wood Worker – Windows and Doors

Synergy Windows and Doors Inc. is a fast-paced growing company making architectural windows and doors.

Reports to: Lead Hand

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Accurately read and follow production paperwork including drawings

· Frame assembly and sub assembly of wood and aluminum windows

· Sash building & hanging along with assembly on windows

· Fit, glue, cut and secure components

· Frame assembly including curves in both wood and aluminum products

· Glazing capabilities an asset

· Sanding products

· Finishing products

· Installation of stops

· Installing and configuration of hardware

· Measuring and cutting wood to specifications

· Math and ability to work with numbers and measures for elevation drawings and blue prints

· Keeping work station clean and organized

· Following all safety practices relating to operation of equipment and work processes

· Follow company policies

· Regular attendance is a must

· Willingness to learn additional skills and complete other duties as assigned

Working Conditions & Physical Capabilities:

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs

· Ability to work on the day shift or night shift as required to meet the needs of the business

· Ability to work overtime and some weekends when required

· Ability to work in a noisy, fast paced environment

· Able to perform the physical requirements of the job, which may include: bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, twisting, lifting, performing repetitive tasks, walking and standing for extended periods of time.

· Must have good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination to complete the job and safely work with a wide variety of hand tools


· Must have a minimum of 5 years carpentry experience, ideally in a similar customer build environment.

· This individual must be able to operate all of the following equipment efficiently and safely: Table saw, band saw, mitre saw, nail guns, staple guns, impact drills, hand tools and use of a tape measure

· Continuing education and experience related to door assembly, carpentry or wood working skills are an asset

· Completion of: WHMIS Training, 4 Step Health and Safety Awareness Training

· First Aid/CPR and forklift training an asset

Health and Safety:

· Adhere to all health and safety procedures as set out by the company

· Ensure that you and all of your team members are using the appropriate safety protection, procedures, and using all safety precautions when operating equipment or using hazardous materials

· Keep work area clean, organized and free from hazards

· Report incidences to the Joint Health and Safety Committee and provide input as identified to continually improve safety practices

· Must wear CSA approved steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and any other PPE’s required to complete the job while on the shop floor at all times .
