Project Coordinator Store Development

The Project Coordinator, Store Development reports to the Manager, Retail Store Development and is responsible for the complete implementation of assigned projects involving new store openings and renovations within identified timeframes and budgets. This full time position, while based out of Richmond BC will periodically require travel to construction site locations across Western Canada.

Responsibilities include:
All aspects of project management for new stores, major and minor renovations including;

Coordinating drawing circulation with Consultants and in-house Design Coordinator, ensuring all necessary personnel review drawings and comments/changes incorporated into plans
Working with the in-house Design Coordinator and Business Unit Managers to develop department designs and layouts
Developing the scope of work for renovation projects
Obtaining and analyzing project costs, preparing project budgets and obtaining expenditure approvals
Prepare and maintain construction schedules and monitor construction progress
Purchasing of materials and equipment and ensuring their timely delivery to meet construction schedules. (millwork, signage, materials handling equipment etc.)
Communicate with the General Contractor to ensure the construction is on schedule and on budget.
To facilitate the resolution of construction questions and issues efficiently and in a timely manner as may arise between the GC, Consultants and LD business units
Being the primary point of contact for the Developer, General Contractor, Consultants and in-house personnel for the project
Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with all parties involved within project scope of work
Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications

Have 3-5 years’ experience coordinating construction related projects
Post-secondary technical education (BCIT) or similar in a construction or industry-related program
Preferable to have completed courses in Project Management
Hold a valid BC driver’s license and have vehicle
Competent in understanding Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings
Good working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks effectively and efficiently
Demonstrate excellent inter-personal and organizational skills
Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
Self-managed and effectively act upon given direction
Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, new concepts and ideas
Ability to obtain and make decisions within reason and guidelines, or escalate as required
Demonstrate a mature, positive and professional attitude
Handle confidential information in a mature and reasonable manner
Work well in team environment
Excellent communication skills verbal and written
Effectively utilize and manage available resources
