Join a progressive engineering firm on a challenging project in the City of Barrie.

Highway Construction Inspection is looking for a Junior Construction Technician to work with senior staff in monitoring a roadway and bridge infrastructure project in the City of Barrie.

Position involves assisting Senior Inspectors with the onsite inspection of the construction of municipal roadways, rehabilitation of a provincial highway, new bridge construction, and the installation of culverts and sewers on a major infrastructure project.


Recent graduate of Civil Engineering Technology Program. Ability to become OACETT certified. Prior experience on road or bridge construction helpful but not mandatory.

Engineering students who have completed two years of a community college or university engineering program will be considered

Own Car Required, vicinity travel compensated.


Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to prepare concise detailed written daily reports

Ability to understand technical specifications and drawings

Ability to work nights and some weekends

Ability to traverse a construction site on foot
