Central Registration and Scheduling is a service provided to the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre (RJCHC). The RJCHC includes Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Services, Autism Spectrum Disorders Service, Child and Youth Mental Health Program and Prosthetics and Orthotics. These clinical programs are comprised of many different clinical services and clinics providing multi-disciplinary outpatient services to children and some adults with developmental, emotional or behaviourial, physical, or communication needs.
As a member of the healthcare team, the Business Clerk provides clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. The Business Clerk in Central Scheduling will be the face of RJCHC and must be able to respond effectively to all client inquiries. This role is responsible for providing all aspects of administrative, clerical, reception, and data entry functions related to scheduling and attending client appointments both onsite and in the community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to greeting clients, attending visits, scheduling onsite and community visits and data entry. They must respond to client and family inquiries and redirect to or obtain information from appropriate staff in clinical programs as required. Functions according to the job description for Business Clerks.
Schedule Work Hours
Monday through Friday, days, evenings, Saturdays days when required. Standard uniform required
1. Graduate of Community College Secretarial or Office Administration or Business program or equivalent office experience.
2. Minimum 1-2 years secretarial experience in a medical setting or ambulatory care medical setting.
3. Proven proficiency in Meditech.
4. Demonstrated experience and proficiency in registration and Community Wide Scheduling.
5. Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
6. Fluency in French is preferred.
7. Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office.
8. Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal, phone and organizational skills.
9. Ability to communicate with clients and their families under stressful and fast- paced conditions.
10. Ability to problem solve effectively in a fast paced environment.
11. Typing skills (Minimum 40 wpm)
