RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is responsible for the production of integration specifications for telecom technologies to ensure the overall stability, integrity performance of CN’s telecommunication services. This includes testing, setting integration and configuration standards as well as visiting and inspecting field sites if required. This role reviews, analyzes, evaluates and maintains an organization's telecommunications system. It also designs, develops, and tests of telecommunications software solutions, and provides customer training of the telecommunications features and functionality. The role operates in a project mainly, and can be engaged for enhancement or 3rd level support environment (during project deployment).

  • Review Solution Architecture provided and translate it to Blueprint
  • Establish Test plans and Tests results for new defined solution
  • Conduct lab testing and log results
  • Based on Blueprint and test results in the lab, create detailed design
  • Create Telecom integration documentation (including Build books, etc.)
  • Ensure that solution designed meet all business requirements
  • Establish deployment Strategy
  • Guide other Integrators through designed solution and address any potential issues with them
  • Coordinate installation with technicians in the field, and with business owner for maintenance window
  • For support issues during project migration or deployment, determine appropriate resolution/solution through root cause analysis and impact analysis
  • Transition to Core to Operation (update of documentation, systems, training, presentation, etc.)
  • For telecom Day-to-Day request, assist A&Q (Assessment and Qualification Team) to provide labour and material estimates
  • Preliminary site Visit and field sites inspection may be required
  • Apply, and ensure compliance with, all appropriate CN I&T standards (eg. Security, Architecture, Project Delivery Methodology, SOX, etc.)
Datacenter expertise:
Support Telecom Datacenter team with the following technologies:

Cisco Nexus (N9K,N7K, N5K, N2K, Fabric Path, Spine and Leaf, VxLAN, QOS queuing on Nexus platforms, MPLS on Nexus, BGP, etc.)

Datacenter automation (integration with VM, Storage,FW,IPAM, etc.)

Best Practices Datacenter Implementation (Next Datacenter Generation)

Datacenter Services (IPAM QIP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, Authentication ISE,etc.)

WAN Acceleration platforms (Riverbed)

PacketShaper Platforms ( BlueCoat Symantec)

Represent the Telecom team:
Present and explain designs/solutions per business requirement (End-to-End solution integration)

Participate and facilitate Next Generation Datacenter

Participate in RFPs to select new Datacenter products if required

Leverage technology at CN:
Design, integrate and document new Datacenter technologies

Maintain a lifecycle process for CN Telecom Datacenter assets

Actively participate in complex deployments and large projects

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent (Telecommunications specialization preferred)

5+ years of experience in design and implementation of Datacenter practices

5+ years of experience in design and implementation of End-to-End Business solution

ASSETS

Strong Knowledge of Cisco Datacenter Technologies : Cisco Nexus (N9K,N7K, N5K, N2K, Fabric Path, Spine and Leaf, VxLAN, QOS queuing on Nexus platforms, MPLS on Nexus, BGP, etc.)

Strong Knowledge of Datacenter automation (integration with VM, Storage,FW,IPAM, etc.)

Good Knowledge on Security (Zoning, Vlan, VPRN, IPS/IDS, etc.)

Good Knowledge of structured cabling for datacenter (Harness, EMF, Fiber trunk,etc.)

Good knowledge of Datacenter Services (IPAM QIP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, ISE Authentication, etc.)

Good knowledge WAN Acceleration platforms (riverbed)
