The Corporate Services Division of Highways and Public Works provides critical central agency services to government and direct services to the department itself. We provide acquisition risk management, purchasing, asset management, printing, mail delivery, insurance, travel and fleet vehicle services to Yukon government departments. We also provide policy, communications, and finance services to the Department of Highways and Public Works. Our division employs labourers, analysts, procurement specialists, graphic designers, client service specialists, accountants and many other professionals.

The Fleet Vehicle Agency (FVA) is a special operating agency of the Department of Highways and Public Works. Its mission is to help government departments and publically funded agencies meet their objectives by procuring and managing efficient and affordable ground transportation services. Reporting to the Manager, Internal Operations, this position is responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations, safety and security of the Agency, its staff and satellite community locations. In addition, this position is also responsible for the acquisition, assignment, licensing, availability, delivery, and eventual disposal of all Fleet Vehicle Agency vehicles used by Yukon Government, which consists of over 650 vehicles.

Essential Qualifications

Review the essential qualifications below. We will screen your resume based on these qualifications.

Experience with large fleet vehicle management (e.g. acquisition, assignment, licensing, availability, delivery, and eventual disposal);
Experience directly supervising staff, leading a team and dealing with human resource matters;
Experience with light and medium duty vehicle operation and basic maintenance; and
Experience in procurement and writing vehicle specifications is an asset.

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment:
Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent) or higher;
Valid RCMP criminal records check; and
Ability to start work at 7:00am daily, working Monday to Friday.

Job Requirements:
Ability to lift weight up to 30 kg
